Tanabe Sustec
Pro RR Suspensions
With the race/track driver in mind, Tanabe set out
to create a new coilover suspension that would provide any driver with the
competitive advantage needed to win. This new coilover suspension system
provides a full range of suspension adjustability that meets and exceeds the
rigorous demands of conquering any track and suits all driving styles. The
SUSTEC PRO RR & DD suspension systems were specifically developed through
extensive research data collected by our professional race drivers and
implemented by our dedicated race development engineers. Our products can be
seen providing the competitive advantage needed to win highly esteemed racing
classes such as Formula Nippon and D1 Grand Prix. Tanabe coilover suspension
systems are the weapon of choice that gives the competitive edge drivers need to
conquer the most demanding of tracks.
4-way levels of dampening adjustability with easily
distinguishable settings allow for precise tuning.
Camber plates allow for easy adjustment of the
suspension's geometry and have durable NMB pillow ball construction for solid
response.
Each coilover is equipped with Tanabe's signature
Sustec PRO210 springs that have a tensile strength of 2100N/m. Sustec PRO210
springs are engineered to be stronger and lighter resulting in a slimmer higher
performing design with improved spring travel over competitors as well as
outstanding stability. *For the professional suspension tuner, different spring
rate sets are available for special suspension tuning.
Fully threaded upper and lower case body allowing
adjustments for proper stroke length and preload tension.
To compensate for extreme cornering loads, the rod
diameter has been increased by 15-25% (depending on application) over stock thus
increasing durability substantially. The outer case measures a substantial 2
1/4in (58mm) for additional strength.
Unlike conventional dual-tube designs, Tanabe has
developed a track proven double-cylinder low pressure coilover design that
increases rebound stability while retaining the ride comfort of monotube
coilover suspension kits.
Our Taper Lock system prevents the case body from
moving after being adjusted, using special Lock Pins that ensure exact
performance under the harshest of conditions.
Relief of excess stress placed on the coil-overs
during hard cornering is handled by a specifically designed heavy-duty bracket
system. Shock tower lower casings are constructed of forged aluminum for
unparalleled rigidity and weight reduction. The strut style knuckles are made of
thicker steel to increase its overall strength.
Track-developed in conjunction with Formula Nippon
drivers, the extensive data collected has resulted in the ideal shock valving
for the PRO RR coilovers. The PRO RR can also be rebuilt with either a Soft or
Hard rebound characteristic (user-selectable)
